What is Silhouette Soft?
Silhouette Soft® restores skin to give a smoother, more toned finish, as well as a more shapely face. Repositioning of the tissue is instant with Silhouette Soft®, while it also offers a longer-lasting, gradual regeneration of collagen.
The repositioning effect is immediate and discreet
Tissue compression and skin elevation happen when the suture is implanted. After inserting the suture, Dr Kathryn applies slight pressure on the treated area; this reshapes the contours of your face to makes it visibly smoother, immediately.
The regenerating effect is gradual
Poly L-lactic acid (PLLA) is a well-known polymer that has been used for many years in a number of biomedical and pharmaceutical applications: suture thread, orthopaedic pins, rods, screws and nails for bone fractures. PLLA has excellent biocompatibility and is biodegradable making it ideal as the key component of Silhouette Soft®. There are small cones on the sutures, which provide traction and fixation points. Collagen production is reinforced by a natural foreign body reaction, helping to restore lost volume to the face and neck.

How does Silhouette Soft® work?
Silhouette Soft uses biodegradable sutures made of poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), a collagen-stimulating material safely used in aesthetic medicine for years. These threads are inserted just beneath the skin using a fine needle and feature tiny cones that anchor to the tissue. Once in place, the threads are gently tightened, lifting and repositioning sagging skin for an immediate visible effect. Over time, the PLLA stimulates collagen production, enhancing skin firmness, elasticity, and texture, delivering a dual benefit of lift and long-term rejuvenation.

What to Expect Post-Treatment
After your Silhouette Soft treatment, you may experience mild swelling, redness, or tenderness at the insertion points, which typically resolves within a few days. There may also be a slight feeling of tightness or tension in the lifted areas, which is a normal part of the process. Most clients return to normal activities within 24–48 hours, although you may be advised to avoid vigorous exercise and facial massages for about a week.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will it hurt?
The treatment involves a local anaesthetic to make the procedure more comfortable for you. Silhouette Soft sutures are introduced with a micro-needle, so there are no incisions.
Can other treatments be used alongside Silhouette Soft?
Silhouette Soft is a tailor made treatment and Dr Kathryn will assess your needs and wishes in your consultation. Silhouette Soft can be used on its own or in conjunction with other treatments such as dermal fillers.
How soon can I get back to my normal life?
The procedure is quick and you can get back to your full social life with minimal recovery time. You should not wear makeup for the first 24 hours following the procedure, and avoid rubbing or massaging the face when washing, shaving or drying for the first 5 days. Dr Kathryn will discuss recovery with you in depth at your appointment.
