How does it work?
The 20% salicylic acid-based solution is applied to the treatment area and left for up to 10 minutes. During this time, the solution penetrates the skin, causing dead skin cells to peel off. The newly revealed skin is smoother and more refined in appearance. Obagi Blue Peel RADIANCE® can be used for a wide range of skin types. Dr Kathryn will thoroughly assess your skin at your consultation to ensure you receive the right treatment for you.
The Obagi Blue Peel Radiance is a quick, superficial chemical peel. It gently exfoliates the skin, removing dead cells and promoting the growth of healthier, more youthful skin. The active ingredient, 20% Salicylic Acid, plays a crucial role in this rejuvenation process. For optimal results, a series of 4 to 6 peels is typically recommended.

The effectiveness of this treatment is demonstrated in a study involving a series of three Blue Peel RADIANCE® procedures, conducted every two weeks. The photographs represent patient outcomes at day 35, a week after their final, third peel.
Before considering this treatment, please note it’s not recommended for those currently experiencing active cold sores, herpes simplex, or warts in the area to be treated. Post-peel, we advise minimizing sun exposure and consistently applying SPF 50 sunscreen for at least 5 days to protect your rejuvenated skin.

How many peels will I need?
For best results, a series of 4 to 6 peels every 2-6 weeks is recommended.
Which concerns does Blue Peel RADIANCE® treat?
Obagi Blue Peel RADIANCE® is suitable for the treatment of fine lines, wrinkles, light melasma, pigmentary changes due to acne in darker skin, uneven skin tone, and laxity and texture issues. It can also boost the outcome of other systems including Obagi Nu-Derm, Obagi-C Rx and CLENZIderm M.D.
Are there any side effects?
Due to the chemicals in the peel, some individuals are likely to experience a burning sensation during the procedure. This may last for a few minutes. You may experience a slight swelling for a few days following your peel, dependent on the strength used, after which the skin begins to peel. The peeling may take place over several days, but your skin should fully heal in around 7 to 10 days.
