DesoBody & DesoFace Fat Dissolving Injections

Say goodbye to stubborn fat with Deso fat loss injections.

What is Deso?

Deso is a fat dissolving injection that helps treat localised, stubborn fat on the face and body that just won’t shift with diet and exercise. It is a form of lipolysis, a non-invasive treatment which accelerates the body’s natural fat removal process.

The active ingredient is deoxycholic acid – a bile acid which naturally emulsifies and solubilises dietary fats in the intestine. It is a cytolytic medication which means it helps break down a specific type of cell; in this case fat cells, when injected under the skin to give a slimmer and firmer outcome.

How does it work?

The area of concern is injected with Deso to liquefy (and permanently destroy) fat cells, which drain naturally through the body’s lymphatic system over the course of a few weeks.

Deso is separated into concentrations for the face and the body, and is an effective treatment for double chins, love handles, inner arms, stomach fat, inner thighs, knees and more.

While Deso is not designed to treat obesity, the injectable treatment is a successful solution for targeting specific areas.

Dr Kathryn will complete a thorough assessment at your consultation to determine your suitability for Deso fat loss injections.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many treatments do I need?

Usually a course of 3 or 4 treatments will be required at 4-6 weekly intervals. Between 2 and 4 treatments can be expected to treat double chins. The number of treatments needed is dependent on the amount of fat to remove and will be discussed at your consultation.

Will Deso hurt?

As with all injectable treatments, many patients feel a little discomfort. However, it is generally considered painless and the discomfort is tolerable. Deso does contain a local anaesthetic for patient comfort.

Are there any side effects?

Deso can result in inflammation, swelling and redness at the injection site. The treated area may also feel sensitive following your appointment. You may continue with day to day activities and physical activities as usual.

What do I need to do after treatment?

Patients should avoid hot showers and baths on the day of treatment, and need to wear a compression garment (such as Spanx) for 72 hours afterwards. However, you can continue day to day activities and exercise as normal.

How soon will I see results following my treatment?

Most patients start to see results from their treatment after 2 to 3 weeks. It is important to remember that this is a more gradual treatment option as the body must drain the destroyed fat cells through the lymphatic system.

How long do results from Deso last?

Because Deso destroys fat cells, results are permanent providing you maintain a healthy diet and exercise regime.
