Sculptra

The First Facial Injectable That Gives You Subtle Results Over Time

Dr Kathryn has offered Sculptra treatments for over 12 years and has had absolutely amazing results with her patients.

Sculptra is an ideal choice when you need replacement collagen and significant increased facial volume. It does require 3 treatments, each spaced a month apart and 1 treatment per year is recommended after that for maintenance. The results continue to improve gradually over time, lasting over 2 years!

Dr Kathryn offers very competitively priced Sculptra: 2 vials for £450 and a course of 3 treatments for £1350.

Sculptra® Aesthetic is a special type of volumiser that works for people with generalised facial hollowness or facial fat loss. This product works by stimulating the body’s own collagen production, with results that can last up to 25 months.

Sculptra works to regenerate deep tissue, replacing lost collagen over time, giving you a natural-looking appearance without giving away that you’ve had treatment. You will notice some visible changes following the first treatment, but an average of three injection sessions over a few months is designed to deliver the unique effects of Sculptra. Results will be more noticeable following each treatment.

Sculptra Aesthetic injections are made from poly-L-lactic acid, which helps to correct shallow to deep facial wrinkles and folds that appear with ageing. It’s a biocompatible, biodegradable synthetic material that naturally stimulates your cells to produce their own collagen and has been used by physicians for decades.

What happens to skin as we age?

Collagen is produced by the body and it’s what makes your skin firm and youthful looking. It’s a support structure for your skin that gives your face volume and shape. From as early as your 20s, your body naturally slows down collagen production and you start to lose volume, making way for lines, wrinkles and folds.

Which Parts of the Face Does Sculptra Treat?

Sculptra replaces lost collagen in the middle to lower face and chin area. It treats the following areas:

Upper Face

  • Temples

Middle Face

  • Nasolabial folds
  • Tear through
  • Cheek augmentation
  • Submalar volumising

Lower Face

  • Marionette lines
  • Pre-jowl sulcus
  • Mandibular line

Scultpra is not recommended to treat glabella, front headlines and lips. Dr Kathryn can advise you on a more suitable treatment if those are your areas of concern.

Ssssh… Gradual Results Nobody Will Know

Within several weeks after injection a natural, soft increase in dermal thickness begins as cells are stimulated to produce their own collagen, which continues for several weeks to give you a subtle, natural look. That’s one of the benefits of Sculptra – it’s less obvious you’ve had any work done compared to other dermal fillers because it takes time to treat the underlying causes of facial ageing.

Age doesn’t have to look the way it used to. It’s more subtle. More gradual. Shouldn’t your anti-age be just the same?

Collagen loss is a symptom common during menopause. If you are suffering from symptoms and are considering hormone therapy, please visit our Hormone Replacement Therapy page to find out more.

I have always had a thin face and as I have aged my face has lost what fat I did have and become very scrawny. Dr Kathryn said that I had also lost the collagen in my face that supports my skin.

She recommended that I had a treatment called Sculptra which helps to replenish lost collagen. I am delighted with the results as now I have a little fuller face which is so natural looking as opposed to my face looking like a puffed up bobblehead. I will definitely have the recommended top ups.

Sculptra lasts over 2 years, and with regular upkeep sessions you can expect to maintain your youthful appearance.

Are there any side effects?

The most common side effects of Sculptra are injection site pain, redness, bruising, tenderness, itching and lumps, bleeding or swelling. After treatment, you will be able to return to your daily activities. You may feel a light sensation and tenderness in the treated area, this is quite normal and nothing to worry about. Dr Kathryn will discuss any concerns you may have during your consultation.

What should I do after treatment?

Dr Kathryn will advise you how best to care for your treated skin, but generally you should avoid wearing makeup for several hours after your injections, avoid overexposure to sunlight and UV light. Dr Kathryn will also advise you to massage the treated areas to achieve optimum results and will show you how best to do this.
