What is Aptos?
Made of non-absorbable polypropylene and absorbable poly-L-lactic acid and caprolactone, Aptos threads give natural looking lift and rejuvenation. By repositioning soft tissues to their original position, you can look like your younger self again.
Which areas can Aptos treat?
Aptos is an effective treatment for; contours of the face, jaw line, cheeks & mid-face, eyebrows, neck, breast, arms, hands, abdomen, buttocks, inner thighs and knees.
It is especially good for sagging mid-face, eyebrows and slight bags under the eyes or sagging skin on the neck.
How do Aptos sutures work?
Aptos threads have specially designed barbs that softly grip the surrounding tissues. Once inserted, they provide support to sagging skin, and as the thread dissolves naturally, the body produces more collagen for a longer-lasting result. Patients see an improvement in skin tone, texture, colour and hydration.

- Avoid over exposure to direct sunlight for 2 weeks
- Avoid sports and exercise for 2 weeks
- No saunas for 3 weeks
- No dental surgery for 3 weeks
- No face and neck massages for 1 month

Frequently Asked Questions
Will it hurt?
This treatment is performed without incision, making it safe, virtually pain free and leaving no scarring. Aptos thread lifting is performed under a local anaesthetic to ensure patient comfort. You will feel a little scratch when this is injected, but following the local anaesthetic, all you will feel is gentle tugging on your skin.
How long will it take?
In most cases, Aptos thread lifting can be completed within around 20-30 minutes, depending on the areas to be treated. Dr Kathryn will discuss approximate treatment time with you at your consultation.
Are there any side effects?
Side effects of Aptos thread lifts include pain, swelling, rippling or dimpling, bruising, inflammation, temporal asymmetry, skin irregularity. These are normal and you should expect them to disappear a few days after your treatment. Dr Kathryn will explain the possibility of side effects at your consultation and answer any questions you may have.
How long will the results last?
As will all aesthetic treatments, results vary from patient to patient. You can expect your Aptos thread lift to last from 1.5 to 2 years, although some patients do report the effects lasting even longer!
What are the benefits of Aptos thread lifts?
Aptos is a great option for rewinding the clocks. Results are evident immediately, and provide a long term effect by promoting new collagen growth. The procedure is quick and requires very little downtime – many patients resume work on the same day of their procedure!
