I found this analysis extremely useful. What was particularly useful, for me, was the separation of the muscle/fat, obesity and abdominal obesity analysis. This allows you to focus on each area separately and better understand your staring point and the target level you aspire to.
It is important to point out this analysis is an excellent analysis of the ‘status quo’ but one has to heed the advice that goes with this to address the issues and improve one’s discipline in implementing the recommendations, both diet and exercise.
Dr Kathryn recommended that I had my body analysed as I had developed a belly over the last couple of years. Arrogantly I assumed I had the perfect weight and diet – well was I wrong!!! I was horrified to learn that I had a mass of visceral fat around my stomach despite being underweight.
I had no muscles in my arms. We went through my diet and while Dr Kathryn said she was not a dietician she pointed out to me that I don’t eat enough proteins which would help me to build muscle and probably I ate too many sugary things hence the fat belly!
She also did a calcium analysis on me and again my calcium intake was way below what it should be. It was certainly a wake-up call for me as I was heading to be one of those old women who are all skin and bone – the scraggy look that I hate!
Thanks to Dr Kathryn and I am now eating better and as a consequence I have also noticed my skin has improved.
